Meet the Staff

AURELIE WEINSTEIN

Director and Founder

Originally from France, trained at the Ecole Régionale d’Acteurs de Cannes et Marseille (ERACM), Aurélie has been acting since she was 10 years old. She has been performing leading roles in different plays such as Peer Gynt, Capitaine Fracasse, Anne Frank, the House of Bernarda Alba, the First Love, and the Baker’s wife. She has been a professional storyteller for years, both in France and here in Atlanta, where she volunteers regularly telling stories for children at Atlanta Accueil, the International Charter School of Atlanta, Da Vinci International School, and Theatre du Reve. Most recently, Aurélie has performed in French language hospitality videos used as training material for hotel staff throughout the Francophone world. She holds a Ph.D. in child psychology from Georgia State University, and she is currently a full time faculty in Psychology at Georgia Gwinnett College where she teaches typical and atypical child development for undergraduate and graduate students. 

MARK PAPIER

Member

Mark is an On-Camera Meteorologist and Storm Specialist for The Weather Channel television network.  But before jumping into the small screen, he was often found on the stage.  Some of his favorite rolls from more years ago than he’d care to admit: The Pirate King (The Pirates of Penzance), Pippin (Pippin), Demetrius (A Mid Summer Nights Dream, The Dentist (Little Shop of Horrors).  He also directed a production of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown.

DANIEL WENGER

Member

Daniel is a systems analyst by day and performer by night. He is the lead singer for the Tevyeh Orchestra in Atlanta, specializing in Jewish and Israeli music, and has been singing and acting on assorted school- and community-based stages since high school and college (in New Jersey, born and raised). Past Atlanta-based stage credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Judah), Annie Get Your Gun (Tommy), and Fiddler on the Roof (Rabbi’s Son). Daniel has already shared the stage with his wife Rivka (he proposed to her at their semesterly a cappella concert), and looks forward to one day sharing the stage with his three daughters as they discover their talents.

MARNI SINGER GOLDMAN

Member

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, moved to Atlanta to attend Emory Law School, and has remained ever since graduation. A “triple-threat”, she has an extensive background in dance, drama, and singing. During the time when she sang in her synagogue’s youth choir from first through twelfth grade, she began training at the age of six in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and musical theatre through her senior year at the University of Florida. She was accepted into the theatre program of a performing arts middle and high school where she not only was the student choreographer of school musicals, but was discovered and filmed a pilot television show. Furthermore, she performed in a number of professional musical and straight theatre productions at The Actors’ Playhouse in Miami. Since moving to Atlanta, Marni built The Rising Stars, a performing arts group for youth. She has been the owner and creative director of this company, where dance and musical theatre is taught in after-school classes, camps, and birthday parties, allowing her share and spread her love of all things performing arts to students and audiences around Atlanta.

Shoshana Dayanim

Member

Shoshana Dayanim is originally from Virginia where she spent most of her time performing in local plays and musicals. She attended the Governor’s Magnet School for the Arts for ballet, and trained with the Virginia Ballet Theater and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. She moved to New York to study at Playwrights Horizons Theater School and Musical Theater Works while earning her BFA in Drama from NYU, Tisch School for the Arts. Shoshana has performed leading roles in various productions in New York and National Tours, and most recently with the Haifa English Theatre. She has also directed and choreographed productions of musicals for children, which led her to earning a MA in Dance/Movement Therapy and then a PhD in Applied Developmental Psychology from Fordham University. Shoshana is currently a licensed counselor and working as a professor in the Psychology Graduate School at Keiser University. Shoshana is thrilled to join the Atlanta Jewish Theater and perform for the first time with her daughter, Shiraz.

Shiraz Agichtein

Member

Shiraz is a sophomore at Dekalb School of the Arts majoring in Visual Art and Vocal Music. She also studies classical voice at Agnes Scott. In addition to the Atlanta Jewish Theater, Shiraz is a member of the touring show choir Pro Arte. She has been performing in musicals since she was 6 years old- her favorite roles include Mary Poppins in “Mary Poppins” and Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz”.  Shiraz can be found singing everywhere and anywhere-  even in her sleep. 

Bernice Isaac

Member

Bernice Isaac has been a performer most of her life. She has been involved in Theater and Musical theater throughout high school and college, as well as playing the violin, piano and guitar. One of the highlights was touring through Europe with America’s Youth in Concert, singing in such places as Carnegie Hall, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Opera House in Geneva, Switzerland. Bernice was a founding member of the Atlanta acapella group, Shir Harmony, and sang in the High Holiday Choir at Congregation Ahavath Achim for 15 years, several of them as a soloist. She was the youngest member (middle school) of the synagogue all adult choir where she grew up in San Antonio, Texas. Singing is Bernice’s passion and enjoys chanting Torah at Congregation Etz Chaim, where she is the Communications Administrator. In her spare time, she designs whimsical, bridal and Judaic jewelry in her side business, I Do Too Designs.

The Atlanta Jewish Theatre Company is a non-profit performing arts organization which offers the Jewish community a wide range of quality theatrical experiences that range from the classics to new works. We seek to captivate audiences with Jewish stories that inspire compassion, evoke emotions, and demand conversation. We welcome both Ahavath Achim (AA) Synagogue members and not AA members.
